Your Tongue is a Genius Doctor. Are You Listening?

What if everything you've been told about your food cravings is wrong? What if the urges you fight, the tastes you restrict, and the desires you suppress are not your enemies, but are actually a sophisticated communication system?

I have come to believe in a profound and liberating truth: your tongue is the most brilliant doctor you will ever meet, and the tastes it asks for are the exact medicines your body needs to heal.

The Timeless Wisdom of a Pregnant Woman

To understand this, we need only look at the incredible wisdom of a pregnant woman's body. During pregnancy, a woman's body is performing the ultimate act of creation. As it builds a new heart, new lungs, and a new liver for the child, it uses up specific energies.

What happens then? The woman's tongue—the body's internal doctor—writes a prescription. It will suddenly crave a specific taste to replenish the specific energy that has been depleted. This is why pregnant women suddenly feel like eating something sweet, or sour, or even ashes from the fire. Their body is not asking for nutrients in the way we think; it is asking for tastes.

Our forefathers understood this. They knew that you must give a pregnant woman whatever her heart desires. This wasn't just to be kind; it was a deep, scientific understanding that her cravings were essential for the healthy development of her child. When a pregnant woman is given all the tastes her tongue asks for, she has a normal delivery and a healthy baby.

Today, what do we have? Scanning rituals, antibiotic rituals, and endless restrictions. Doctors may even tell a pregnant woman not to eat sweets for fear of diabetes. Please understand, if you deny a pregnant woman the sweet taste her body is screaming for, I believe the child can be born with deficiencies. We have replaced ancient wisdom with modern fear, and the results speak for themselves.

The Prison of Modern Dietary Advice

If you are suffering from any disease, my advice is to start treating yourself like a pregnant woman. You must eat liberally whatever your heart likes and whatever your tongue craves. Only then can your disease be cured.

But modern medicine has built a prison of restriction around us.

  • "Don't eat sweets, you'll get diabetes."

  • "Don't eat salt, your BP will increase."

  • "Don't eat spicy food, you'll get skin disease."

  • "Don't eat sour food, your joints will ache."

They ask us to avoid all the tastes for one reason or another. My question is: then what is there left for us to eat? If we say no to all the tastes, we will have to starve!

How to Listen to Your Inner Doctor

I don't know which taste you should eat. You don't know which taste you should eat. So who knows? Only your tongue knows.

Learning to listen to this doctor is simple. Keep a sweet in your mouth. If you truly enjoy the taste, if it brings you happiness, then eat it. If you like it so much you want another, then have another. But perhaps by the third or fourth one, your tongue will find that the dish is no longer as tasty. That is the signal. That is your doctor saying, "The prescription has been filled. The medicine has been delivered." Stop at that point. If you continue to eat a sweet after your tongue stops enjoying it, then you will create disease.

This is true for all tastes. Can you eat food with too much salt? No, it's disgusting. But we often eat food with too little. In the old days, a small mound of salt was always kept on the side of the plate. Why? So each person could add the exact amount of salt their own tongue demanded. Every person's need for each taste is different.

A Life Without Fear of Food

Please, do not be afraid of any taste from now on. All tastes are good for you, as long as you consume them when your tongue asks for them, and stop when your tongue says it is enough.

  • To those with diabetes: you can eat sweets. Nothing will happen to you.

  • To those with high BP: you can eat salt as needed by your tongue. It will only do you good.

Once you understand that your tongue is the doctor and taste is the medicine, you can eat all the foods liked by your tongue and live a healthy, happy life, free from the prison of dietary restrictions forever.
